VALDO: A Story of Family Heritage and Exceptional Quality

Valdo is the number one brand of Prosecco in Italy and its story spans three generations of the Bolla family; it is a story of passion and love for winemaking and entrepreneurial spirit. Valdo is a name that instantly brings to mind the land it belongs to, Valdobbiadene.

Bolla family has been in the wine-making industry for more than 90 years and is considered to be one of the oldest ones in the area. Their story is strictly linked to the evolution of Prosecco as they were able to spread the culture of Prosecco in Italy and throughout the whole world.

In 2019, the Prosecco Superiore Hills were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is an area where the cultivation of vines is a true labor of love and where, due to the untamed terraces of this area, every grape is thoughtfully hand-picked. As a part of its philosophy, Valdo is constantly committed to ensuring it monitors the entire production chain with the end purpose of producing top-quality sparkling wines.

Today, we are writing you about three exceptional wines from Valdo’s offer:

- The Cuvée 1926 Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG

- The Cuvée di Boj Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

- The Cuvée del Fondatore Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

Cuvée 1926 celebrates Valdo’s history. It is a unique blend of Glera and Chardonnay grapes that includes a brief maceration of the skins before fermentation to give the sparkling wine an even more distinct flavor.

It was precisely in 1926 that the first bottle was opened in the Valdo winery, and this Prosecco Superiore aims to celebrate that!

Tasting notes:

COLOR

Straw-colored with golden tinges. Fine and delicate bubbles.

BOUQUET

The characteristic aroma of ripe fruit, apple, pear, and exotic fruits such as banana and pineapple.

TASTE

Moderate softness and full-bodied with a fresh flavor and persistent fruitiness.

The Cuvée of Boj Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is the finest example of the territory. It originates from the Valle dei Buoi, a suitable growing area in the Valdobbiadene hamlet of Pietro di Barbozza with outstanding microclimatic characteristics.

Tasting notes:

COLOR

Straw-colored with brilliant golden tinges. Fine and lingering bubbles.

BOUQUET

Characteristic, flowery aroma with a pronounced fruitiness of pear and golden apple.

TASTE

Refined, harmonious, excellent persistence of aroma and flavor.

The Cuvée del Fondatore Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Single vintage

is produced with grapes from a single harvest. This is a high-quality blend made with a unique sparkling process that includes partial maturation in French oak barriques for the Chardonnay component of the sparkling wine. The bottle fermentation in a pressurized vat for at least 9 months produces an extremely fine, creamy perlage that pairs surprisingly well with the sensations imparted by the barrique: innovation in tradition, a taste that pays homage to Sergio Bolla, the winery’s founder.

Tasting notes:

COLOR

Straw-colored with golden tinges, rich and fine bubbles

BOUQUET

Aromas of ripe fruit, banana, hazelnut, vanilla, and a slight hint of honey.

TASTE

Full-bodied, harmonious, velvety, with a pronounced personality. The fruity aromas blend with the spicy undertones of the barrique.

The history of Valdo is a tale of passion for wine, terroir, and wine-making art. These high-end wines are an excellent choice for every occasion and whatever choice you make will be the right one.
